Abstract

Interviewing and CV writing are two skills that resurface across all spans of a forensic toxicologist’s career. These skills are integral when applying to undergraduate/graduate programs, internships, new and/or promotional employment opportunities, preparing for courtroom testimony, and during the application process for professional organizations such as SOFT, AAFS, TIAFT, and ABFT. The SOFT Young Forensic Toxicologists and SOFT Membership Committees are joining together for a professional development ConEd webinar to aid toxicologists in all stages of their careers. This webinar will not only approach the interview and CV writing processes from the applicant perspective, but from the human resources and interviewer/reviewer as well.

Learning Objectives

  • Teach viewers varying interview skills and how to prepare for an interview
  • Teach viewers how to prepare a CV and/or update their current CV
  • Inform viewers about the role human resources has in the hiring process
  • Inform viewers about SOFT membership benefits and how to apply for membership or promotion
