Submission Categories

  1. Organizational Updates

    • News from SOFT, Annual Meeting details, Committee Updates, Award Announcements, Continuing Education Opportunities, and other information valuable to members.

  2. Scientific Submissions

    • Research articles, case reports, and scientific studies related to forensic toxicology.
    • Submissions must include an abstract Published abstracts will feature direct links to the full articles.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Formatting Requirements

    • File Format: Submit articles in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
    • Length: Articles should be 500-1,500 words. Longer submissions may require additional review and editing.
    • Images and Graphics: Provide high-resolution PNG or JPG files separately, clearly labeled.
    • Hyperlinks: Embed directly within the text.
    • References: Use APA style, including a complete reference list.
    • Tables: Use Word's table tool. Include titles and labeled rows/columns. Complex data may include an Excel file.
    • Language and Style: Write in American English with a professional tone. Use Calibri, 11 pt, black font.

    • Adhere to the quarterly deadlines for inclusion:
      • 2025 Issue 1: Submissions due January 13 | Published week of February 3
      • 2025 Issue 2: Submissions due May 12 | Published week of June 9
      • 2025 Issue 3: Submissions due August 13 | Published week of September 15
      • 2025 Issue 4: Submissions due November 14 | Published week of December 15

  4. Review and Acceptance

    • All submissions undergo editorial review. The editorial team reserves the right to edit for clarity, grammar, and style. Acceptance notifications will be communicated promptly.
