Abstract
GHB and it's precursors are still in circulation and being used in Drug-Facilitated Crime (DFC). Some complications arise from analysis and interpretation. For example, GHB has a relatively short half-life and may test negative if the specimen is not collected in a timely manner. Additionally, there is endogenous GHB that must be understood to provide proper interpretation.

Learning Objectives

  1. Attendees will learn that labs should still be testing for GHB.
  2. Attendees will learn testing protocols.
  3. Attendees will learn about endogenous GHB and how to determine the difference between endogenous and exogenous GHB concentrations.
